The HD3800 combines MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems) sensor technology and GPS (Global Position System) technology with Microsoft Windows Mobile based handheld computer to create an advanced open test platform. The AccelereX HD3800 consists of the following components:

Microsoft Windows CE based Handheld Computer (HP iPAQ, Dell Axim or TDS Recon)
  • Intel 400-624Mhz XScale CPU. 128-256MB Flash ROM, 32-64M SDRAM.
  • Microsoft Pocket PC 2003 or Windows Mobile 2005 Operating System, including Mobile Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Media Player from Microsoft, as well as hundreds of free or commercial software.
  • Large, Brilliant 3.5" or 3.7" Color TFT VGA Display and Accelerated Graphics. 240x320 or 640x480 (Dell Axim X51v) resolution.
  • Some models have Integrated 802.11b and/or Bluetooth wireless.
  • One CompactFlash Type II expansion slot and one Secure Digital (SD) expansion slot.
  • 3.5mm headphone/headset jack for headsets to support VoIP (Voice over IP) and voice recognition applications. Built-in microphone and speaker for easy recording on the go.
  • USB Cradle, charger, software and manual.
  • At least one Year limited warranty by manufacturer.

  • SiRF Star III Chipset.
  • Wireless Bluetooth and serial connections.
  • 20 parallel satellite-tracking. 1 second continuous update rate.
  • Accuracy: 5 meter for position, 0.1 meter/s (0.22 miles/hour) for velocity.
  • Removable and rechargeable Li-Ion battery for at least 10-hour operation per charge.
  • Built-in patch antenna, with connector for an external active antenna (not included).
  • Small and light: 1.8 x 2.6 x 0.74 inch. less than 2 ounce.

  • CF+ (CompactFlash Plus) Type I form factor, plugged directly into the PDA's CF slot.
  • Freescale (Motorola) 3-Axis acceleration sensor with selectable ranges of 1.5/2/4/6g.
  • 12 bit analog-to-digital converter.
  • Calibration data stored in the card's flash memory.

  • 2-tier windshield PDA mount offering unparallel flexibility.
  • Two adjustable tightening knobs and a swivel-head tightening nut for all the desired positioning.
  • Large sucker cup with one-touch locking lever for easy installation and removal.

Handheld Performer Software
  • Takes acceleration in all three directions every 0.01 seconds, and GPS data every second.
  • Advanced filter technology to best estimate acceleration in different vehicle and road conditions.
  • Five operation modes: Acceleration (auto start), Acceleration (countdown start), Braking, Continuous and Installation (raw data). In Continuous mode, accurate speed and distance data from GPS are continuously displayed which can be used for purposes like calibrating the vehicle's speedometer.
  • Display 1/4, 1/8 miles or any distance average G, time and speed.
  • Zoom in and zoom out in both the time and value axes.
  • User can measure the G, speed and distance between two arbitrary points.
  • Save data to plain text files and download them to desktop computers. Data can be imported to Excel or Matlab for further analysis.
  • Very intuitive and easy to use user interface. Extensive help is available right on the PDA.
  • Life-time free software upgrade.

 

Unlike other dynamometers in the market which are basically a proprietary box with no much other use, in our solution all components can be individually replaced, upgraded or used for other purposes. For example, the software can be upgraded by simply downloading a new version from our web site, whereas for others you have to upgrade the firmware which in most cases requiring shipping the product back to the original manufacturer.
